A former railway, several tramways, a one-time firebrick works and numerous quarries set in a wild landscape of limestone outcrops and gritstone crags.
A once-thriving community is now reduced to a few houses and many ruins. Innumerable cuttings and embankments, humps and hollows each have a tale to tell of the history of this spot.
